Così l’Italia si rende complice della flotta fantasma russa
An investigation into the Italian complicities in the Russian shadow fleet phenomenon, produced on behalf of Greenpeace with the support of award-winning Italian investigative TV programme Report. Over four months we revealed environmental, espionage and sabotage risks off the coast of sicily, how the authorities turned a blind eye and how the private sector profited off the sanctions evasion. The findings were broadcast on national public television, in Report's season finale at prime time. Prominent media outlets in Italy and Germany also featured the story.

Mediterraneo da Proteggere: la mappa dell’effettiva tutela del nostro mare che smentisce Il governo italiano
I consulted Greenpeace's seas campaign as a GIS analyst to uncover the true extent of Italy's protected seas and disprove the claims made by the Italian Ministry of the Environment. I was able to quantify the extent of the different levels of protection by georeferencing and digitising cartographic material produced by the ministry, and put together the resulting evidence in an interactive web map, which was utilised by the NGO to support a petition to the ministry.

ENI e il gas del Congo: cronaca di un fallimento
An investigation started to shine light on the misteriously long and convoluted journey of the LNG carrier Gaslog Savannah ended up revealing a disconcerting truth about the Italian Government and oil&gas major ENI's business in the Republic of Congo. Open-source data, human and geospatial intelligence gathering were instrumental for the investigation's execution which I led with the support of Greenpeace's Italian investigations unit.
